LAPT Weight Loss Program

We all know that losing weight can be frustrating and often downright depressing. Mostly when I counsel my weight loss clients, I am shocked at how little they know about what is really going on in their body. You don't need to be a scientist to understand any of this stuff, but I'll be darned if I've seen anyone get results without understanding and applying some simple truths. There are some P's and Q's that if you chose to live by them, will change your body and your life forever.

Metabolism: Don't think your metabolism is your enemy, even your "slow" genetics cannot compete with a great clean diet high in fiber and a kick-#@!!% exercise program. Metabolism is directly affected by your age, or hormone production. Age matters. But if you are over 40, don't fret. Exercise will stimulate not only your metabolism but also your hormone production.

You snooze you gain. Exercise to lose weight and keep it off. To gain weight you eat more calories that you burn-TO LOSE WEIGHT YOU EAT LESS CALORIES AND BURN MORE. After about 22 years of research by the scientific community and about 2 zillion research studies that make us yawn, it turns out exercise really does burn calories-lots of them. But you need to do more than just walking if you're going to lose the extra pounds and stay that way. Cardio, muscle strengthening, core training and flexibility all promote weight loss. Find out what to do, how to do it, and keep doing it.

Drink Water. I know you've heard it a hundred times, now do it. If you feel bloated when you drink water it's probably because the high sodium in your diet is helping you to retain water. Strip out as much sodium as you can for a few days and notice the difference. Much better. Plus as a bonus, water is the best beauty secret, hydrating your skin from the inside out, really inexpensive and always accessible.
